Blood was pouring down the side of Aria's face, soaking her t-shirt. She raised her bow with shaking hands. Her eyes were huge with fear and her face was dead white from blood loss. "Don't come any closer," she whispered hoarsely.

Tears trickle down my face and I grab my knife, wanting to kill myself. I aim in at my chest.

He'd grabbed his knife. Oh gods, was he going to kill her now too? She felt dizzy and started to slowly back away. She slipped slightly, but caught herself. He was hurt, miserable, and confused. What was going on?

Making sure that Aria was watching me, I slash the knife at myself. My skin breaks open in long slashes. Blood spurts from my chest in a shower of red.

Aria felt a scream starting up from inside her. It had been coming on for a long time, but now it burst from her lips, long and terrified. Still screaming, she stumbled backwards, dropping to her knees. She keeled over in a dead faint.

Gregor dropped to the ground, unconscious from blood loss.

When Aria woke up, Gregor was slumped in front of her, covered in blood. She felt light headed and stiff, but no worse for wear. She retrieved her knife and looked around warily. There was no way that she wanted to be caught unawares if Gaia possessed him again.

Okay, now she was scared. She and Gregor were alone in the middle of nowhere and she had no idea as to what to do.
Ryder walked into the forest. He was bored and wanted to take a look at the fight that had taken place. He stopped suddenly, seeing two bloody young teenagers in a clearing. The boy was unconscious and the girl looked like a cornered animal. She was clearly terrified.
Aria saw someone else walk in. He was on the short side, but he was clearly older than she and Gregor. He had wavy black hair with bright green eyes and was very fit. There was a strange sense of power about him that made her wary. She raised her knife in a defensive gesture, but got the feeling that he didn't mean them harm. Why?
Ryder tried for a disarming smile. The girl looked like she was quite capable of killing him, but he could tell from her eyes and body language that she was also willing to trust him. That was good. "You guys okay?" he asked them, raising a dark eyebrow questioningly.
Aria slowly shook her head. "He-he... He," she stuttered, unable to find words that would accurately describe the situation. She looked pleadingly at him, slowly lowering her knife.
Ryder understood. They needed help. "I'm Ryder," he said, walking over to the boy and turning him over gently. There were wicked-looking slashes on his chest. The girl definitely could have given them to him, but the knife he was holding was covered in recent blood; hers was not. He must have cut himself. Powerfully reminded of Rayn, he bowed his head slightly. Then he looked to the girl. "I'm going to take him to the infirmary," he said. "You can come if you want." He wanted to make it seem more like an offer and not something that he was making her do.
Aria nodded to his suggestion. "I'll come," she said quietly. "My name's Aria." She tried to smile, but there was still fear in her eyes when she looked at Gregor's unconscious body.
"Nice to meet you, Aria," Ryder smiled. He bent down to lift Gregor.

Ryder picked him up and carried him out.
Aria followed them. Just before she left, she remembered she left her bow and quiver. She hurried back and slung her quiver over her shoulder and unstrung her bow. She hurried after them.
