The Hills

Terrance left the hustle and bustle of the camp behind him, heading for the hills. He hated civilization. It was unnatural, ugly, a blight upon the natural world. It was the growing age of civilization that had driven Stella away from him. He was 'over her' of a sort, but things just weren't the same without her. Moodily, he sat on the crest of one of the hills, tall grasses swaying around him, nearly as tall as he when he was sitting down. He closed his eyes, thinking. A warm breeze played over him, bringing with it the scents of heather and wildflowers.

I looked my bow anf arrows.I had a very long time to do practise.I looked my sword.I usually was using this.

Terrance's ears pricked. He could hear someone moving towards him. Without a second's indecision, he rolled to the side, down a portion of the hill. Rising to one knee, he peered through the grasses to see who the newcomer was.

I didn't noticed anything.I found a good spot and prepeared my arrows.I started doing my training at three trees.

Whoever it was was more than a decent shot with a bow and arrow. He heard three heavy thunks. Horrified, he sprang to his feet. They were shooting at trees. Not cool, especially since there was an archery range in camp.

I thought I heard something.I stop shooting.

-Hello?Anybody here?I yelled.

I didn't took any answer.

-My imagination,I said and continue shooting.

Terrance was angry now. Each time an arrow hit a tree he flinched, only able to imagine what kind of pain the poor tree was experiencing. Standing upright, he stalked up the hill. "Stop this madness!" he cried, reaching the crest of the hill. "This is totally barbaric!"

I turned surprised and let the other arrow leave to the voice.I let my bow down and got my sword.

Terrance stepped to the side as the arrow flew at him, snatching it out of the air as it soared inches away from his face. Glowering, he stomped down towards the wooded section of the hills. "Why in the name of Pluto did you shook at me?" he demanded, waving his arms, arrow in one hand. "I could have died!"

I finaly understood that it was a boy.

"You could have killed me!" Terrance yelled back. "I'm not sure about you, but I kinda like being alive!" He marched forward, giving the girl a withering look. "And stop shooting those trees. Can't you see it's hurting them?"

"As if you could," Terrance said contemptuously. "And they aren't dead, smarts. They're dormant for present. They'll awake in time. That one's already putting out new leaves." He handed her arrow back to her. "I assume that this is yours?" he asked.

I grabed the arrow.I was very angry.

"Oh yeah? Stop with the yelling already," Terrance said, adopting a bored voice. "It's getting on my nerves. The thing is, I consider those trees family, so you shoot them one more time I just might have to shoot you too."

"Try killing you?" Terrance asked, shaking his head. "Whoa there, girlie. That's not how I work... but you don't want to try me." Turning his attention to the trees, he walked past her and pulled the arrows out with great care. Dropping them to the ground at his feet, be began to sing a healing song under his breath. In a few minutes, the wounds had closed and a warm wind rustled through the grove. He backed up, looking tired.

"Faunus," Terrance said wearily. He sat down under one of the trees, closing his eyes. With his mind, he reached deep into his consciousness. Whatever he had said to her, the trees had been dying. They should have fully leafed out by now, and instead were months behind the growing season. There was only so much he could do, but he could fix the wrong. At last, his brain established the link between his mind and the trees'. As the connection strengthened, the new leaves grew larger, buds merged and unfurled bright greenery. When he was done, the grove was as healthy as it had been in its youth. He, himself, however wasn't faring as well. Terrance got to his feet, feeling weak and shaky. He had done what he could though.

Terrance, unsteady on his feet from using so much power, walked back over to her, holding out the arrows. "Take them, Sister," he said quietly. "And consider yourself warned. I don't tolerate my family being hurt."

ooc: he's addressing her formally when calling her 'Sister'

"Diana isn't allowed to have kids," Terrance said. "You a huntress or something? Or are you serious?" He raised an eyebrow skeptically. "I didn't think Lord Jupiter would tolerate a daughter of Diana for so long."
