Tory's knife was sheathed so she had no idea why he was still so afraid. She looked at him, puzzled but concerned at the same time. Was something seriously the matter with him or what?

I walked into my cabin,closed the door and opened the box with medicines I had under my bed.This was a difficilt decision,but it was for Tory's good.She wasn't going to suffer.Inside the box were about 20 packets of different medicines.I opened all of them and threw them into a small bottle with water.I threw the empty packets into the box and hidded it under my bed again.Until the water was ready I opened a small black notebook,my diary,and started writing."My last day here.Going to visit dad,mom and grandma soon.For Tory."I let the notebook next to me,opened te bottle and drank all the water.Then I closed my eyes and started thinking the happiest moments of my life.My mind stopped at Tory's smiling face.Before I fainted,I smiled.This is the end,I thought.I'm sorry.

Tory walked into Nicola's bunk. She had a canteen of nectar in her hand for his wounds, figuring that she at least owed it to him to try to fix things. As soon as she stepped through the door however, she froze. Her eyes didn't want to take in what it was that they were seeing. Nicola... was... A hoarse sound of grief, pain, and fear welled up from her chest and she dropped to her knees beside him; she didn't pay attention to the black leather journal lying close by. "Nicola!" she cried, sobs welling up from some place deep inside.

Tory was sobbing. It was all her fault he was dead... or going to die anyway; she could still feel a weak heartbeat. She speared some nectar on his cracked lips, silently willing him to take it. But even if he did, would it already be too late?

I felt a liquid in my mouth.Imidiately,I felt warmer.My head,my chest,my hands,all my body.But the light was still there.I tried to open my eyes to see where I was.Underworld is looking a lot like my cabin,I thought.

Tory saw him stir, his eyelid flutter. Had it worked, or had it been a mere trick of the light? Was it just her imagination, or did he seem to suddenly be breathing easier? Carefully, she pulled him into a sitting position against her, holding his body gently in her arms. Please, don't die on me, Cola, she thought desperately. Please... I don't want to live without you.

I felt someone moving me,but I was too weak to be afraid.I just closed my eyes and tried to get a deep breath.Wow,death is making me weaker than I was,I thought again.

"Please, Cola," Tory whispered, trying not to start sobbing all over again. "Come back. It's not your time... Please..." The 'please' was barely audible, for that was when her voice broke again. She bowed her head and simply held him, saying nothing. She was afraid that if she opened her mouth, she would start to cry all over again.

I was surprised by hearing Tory's voice in the Underworld.Is she dead too?Or....Am I alive?I wondered.I opened my mouth,trying to say something.

Tory did start crying when he tried to say her name. Hugging him tighter of a moment, she relaxed her hold on him. With silent tears running down her face, she shook with relief. "I'm here, Nicola," she whispered. Don't leave me.
