Tory laughed. "You a Frenchie then or you just like the lingo?" she asked him. Lingo was Spanish, but it was the only language other than English that she knew.

"¿No sabes?" Tory asked him, raising an eyebrow. One of her best friends in boarding school had been from Puerto Rico. Why she hadn't gone to the US was a mystery, but she said her grandma was from Ireland so she hadn't asked too many questions. "Lingo is actually English slang meaning 'language' - though it's derived from Spanish," she informed him.

Tory snorted. "Well, let's start at the beginning," she said, looking over to him. "Where'd your story begin, Nicola?" she asked. "Where're you from, who was your mortal parent, what was growing up like?"

-It is weird,I said and started my story.When my dad learn my mom was pregnant,he made her go to the Underworld.My mom was from France but you can say I'm from Underworld.After some time,she couldn't leave there anymore.She asked my dad to kill her and,because he couldn't,she killed herself.And because he couldn't living at the same place with me,he let me here.

I looked the floor with sadness.I almost couldn't remember my mom.I looked back at her and smiled.

Tory rested her head on his shoulder, staring into the depths of the cabin. "Mum was a librarian in Ireland. When I was still a kid she married this guy and they had normal kids. After that, I didn't matter anymore. The kids stayed local and I got shipped off to boarding schools. Neither of the adults nor the kids wanted anything to do with me. In the end, she kicked me out after a manticore attack."
