I had ran until I found that dark place.Now I was sitting on a big rock,my hands keeping my head.I was crying.

Tory walked in after Nicola, feeling as if she had all the time in the world. She tried not to smile and look serious when she saw him, but couldn't help it. Her mouth was set in a serious line, but her eyes sparkled. "You okay, Cola?" she asked him, looking concerned. "It isn't like you to run from the crime scene," she said with a small smile.

"Like what?" Tory asked, looking unconvinced. "C'mon, I'm your friend, Cola. You can talk to me. What's going on?" she asked gently. "I promise, I won't walk away from you."

-I can't believe you!How you can be so calm?I am propably the bigest jerk on the planet and you are just coming and saying that we are friends?

"What'd you want me to do?" Tory asked with a sigh. "Honestly, you're making such a big deal about it. If you want to stay friends, I'd be totally cool with not. If you want to walk away now and not look back, I'd understand. If you want to take this one step farther, I'd love that. But it's all up to you."

Tory slapped him. "Better?" she asked. "I honestly don't feel like yelling, so I'll do that when you make me mad sometime... 'cause I'm not mad, Cola. Okay?" Jeez. He wasn't getting the hint.

Tory laughed. "I'm not mad at you, Cola. I'm totally fine with it." And because he wasn't getting the message, she leaned forward and kissed him. She pulled back and smiled. "Get it now?"

Tory was surprised, but hey, she wasn't going to complain - especially since he was a really good kisser. Before she knew what was happening, she was kissing him back. Nothing else existed but the two of them.

Tory both looked, and felt, hurt. What was wrong with her? She didn't even say anything as she turned around, not trusting her voice. With a stifled sob, she left at a run.

Crystal walked in with Jasper trotting at her heels. She stopped when she saw the depressed-looking guy sitting on a rock. "You okay?" she asked him cautiously, taking a step forward.

Crystal rolled her eyes. "No, you're not if that's what you think. The biggest jerk ever never thinks he's a jerk." She sat on a log and Jasper wandered over to him, wagging his tail. "So what'd you do?" she asked, hiding a smile.

When he was done, Crystal roared with laughter. She slapped her thigh and wiped the tears from her eyes. "Oh gods," she gasped at last. "That is so funny!"
