Music Room

Subject: Music Room Sat Jun 23, 2012 9:33 am

Aliah walked ito the music room, no one was there. She was happy, this is one of the only times a bright smile was on her face, she headed to the piano, flipping her hair to her left shoulder so it could sit there. She warmed up, using her left hand to play something small, then she started to play, Not over you by Gavin Degraw. She shrugged smiling a little as her calm and relaxing singing voice added to the sound of the music.

Ryder walked into the music room only because he was looking for Rayn. The people in her cabin probably wouldn't be the type to chill with the instruments, so it seemed like a place for relative safety. He was surprised to find Aliah there when he walked in. And she was singing to the tune of the music, an oddly calming sound. He stood in the doorway, not wanting to break the spell.

Aliah noticed the guitar and she gasped, grabbing it immdiatley when she finishd the song, she found a chair and sat down with the guitar." Oh my Apollo, how much I miss my guitar." She said to herself strumming a couple of notes, humming a little as she stroke notes. She smiled to herself, when she really wanted to cry. She was already homesick. She wiped her eye before a tear escaped her eye. She even missed her mom, they really didn't eachother much but she really loved when her mom was home. She still felt alone in the room.

Ryder noticed her tears and felt rather uncomfortable. He had a girlfriend, she wasn't his to worry about but still; he felt bad for her. The first day was always a rough one. Slowly, he took a few steps in and started to clap, a slow smile on his face. "That was amazing," he complimented, grinning at her.

Aliah was startled, almost dropping the guitar she looked up. It was Ryder, she sighed as he complimented her."Thank you." She told him with a smile. She put the guitar down, sitting on the chair still.

"You're good," Ryder said. "Do you take lessons or where you just... born that way?" He allowed himself to smile as he made reference to a song.

Aliah shrugged." I guess born this way, it seems like whe I approach a instrument, it never feels new, I can just pick it up and play it." Aliah shrugged looking around thr room. She decided she was gonna come here at least once a day.

Ryder nodded. It made sense, he supposed. She was a daughter of Apollo after all and he was the god of music as well, after all.

" So what about you? How's it being son of Pontus?" She asked remembering how she heard about him being a demigod. Wel everyone here was a demigod.

Ryder stiffened. "It's... okay," he said. "Pontus is a... a Titan." It wasn't exactly a topic that he liked to discuss, but he was open to it since she was new.

" I'm guessing by the sound of titan, its bad?" she asked, crossing her legs while still sitting in the chair.

Ryder sighed and sat down, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "The titans came before the gods," he explained. "Kronos, the youngest Titan and their leader, fathered most of the Olympians that still rule today. Backtracking though, there was this major war between the gods and the titans and the gods won. More recently, there was a war with the demigods verses Kronos and several of his kin. It was bloodiest on the sides of the demigods. There's a lot of general hate towards children of titans and being more powerful than the children of the gods doesn't help matters. We're feared and despised, which isn't a good combination at the best of times."

Aliah smiled." I don't see people like that, I believe no suc thing, you can't be judged because of something your dad did awhile ago, right?" She said remembering the one time her mom messed up behind stage and said something rude to a fan. She wasn't happy but tat didn't involve who she was." But I see titans have a big part... right now, I guess."

Ryder shrugged. "I can't control what they think about me or my dad. I'm not the gods' biggest supporter, but if it came to war again, there'd be little question of my loyalty." He sat down, folding his hands in his lap as his eyes focused on the dingy window. Where was Rayn? What had happened to her? Was she okay?

Aliah looked at Ryder. He looked worried," Is there...... something wrong?" She asked him tilting her head to the side a little. Aliah sat back in her seat putting herhands in her lap. She was still crossing her legs.

Ryder shook his head. "It's nothing," he muttered. "Just... worried." Chiron might not give beans about Rayn, but he did. If she didn't show up soon, he was going to tell the Olympians what had been going on at Camp. He wouldn't tolerate her being abused like that; she was a person after all.

Aliah nodded. She never been that worried in her life. Actually, there wasno need for her to be worried like everyone else. Yeah, she had alot of friends at home but she never ever got so close to them that she would worry too much about them. She kept her distance, even from her mom. It was just something she did, she even ignored people at times just to avoid her feelings being involved.

Ryder ran a hand through his untidy hair and looked anxiously around. He needed to stop thinking so much of Rayn, it was messing up the way he was interacting with Aliah. Still, he couldn't help it. "Sorry," he said, rubbing his eyes and looking back up at her with a weak smile. "You have any questions 'bout the gods or the mythology?"

"The Olympians are ususally thought of as the most powerful of the gods," Ryder explained. "They tend to be the oldest of the gods, and several are children of Kronos. We commonly refer to Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades as the 'Big Three' because they are the three powerful sons of the Titan Lord."

"Apollo was born on the island of Delos, which I think is somewhere in the Mediterranean I think. His sister is Artemis, the goddess of the hunt as well as the moon. She formed a group of maidens, who earn their immortality by pledging to never have anything to do with men. They hunt down and destroy monsters. Apollo is a healer god as well as the god of music and partially the sun. Helios, the sun god, faded some time ago and Apollo took over his duties. Luckily for him, he was a son of Zeus and Leto. Both were immortals, so he was born immortal along with Artemis. Hera wasn't happy about his birth, but eventually the two were accepted as Olympians." Ryder hoped that he'd made sense with that. In his attempts to try to stay out of sight, he'd spent a lot of time in the library learning all he could about the gods and other relevant material.

Aliah smiled." Wow, that's something." Aliah said with a small laugh, she crossed her arms." I want to meet him." Aliah said with a shaky breath.

"You're in luck then," Ryder said. "There's a trip to Olympus in about a week and a half from now. If you want, you can sign up to go. If Rayn wants to come as well, you might just see me there was well." But only if Rayn was going because if she wasn't then he didn't want to leave her.

Aliah smiled at the thought of meeting her dad, she did a little happy jump but hesitated." Rayn? Who's that?" She asked.
